Pulteneytown People’s Project

Welcome to Pulteneytown People’s Project (PPP)

Pulteneytown People’s Project, known locally as ‘the PPP’ or the Pulteney Centre, was originally started by the local community in 2003 with the aim of creating opportunities to improve life chances, quality of life and economic well-being in the area. An important driver was providing support and services by the community, for the community. It is one of the largest social enterprises in the Highlands wth the Centre itself opening in 2012 and contributes to the local economy in both financial and wellbeing terms.

Focussed around the Pulteney Centre as a community hub, it is thriving and offers employability services, welfare rights, housing support and childcare services, as well as a community café, social groups such as art classes, bingo, pensioners lunch club, knit and natter and men’s shed, in addition to multi-purpose rooms and spaces for hire. All profits are ploughed into services that matter to the community itself.

The charity is a charitable company limited by guarantee. It is registered as a Scottish charity. The company is governed by its memorandum and articles of association. The PPP is a social enterprise and all profits go back into the community and the facility.  We operate as a business and by supporting our business you are also supporting the community we serve.

We strive to provide a high class service to everyone who comes to the centre and we greatly appreciate the continued support we receive from the community, businesses and agencies.

PPP Cafe

Our Community Cafe

Our community café is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.00-5.00pm (we close on a Wednesday to host our pensioners lunch club).

Every Tuesday 4.00-6.00pm and Thursday 12.30-2.00pm we also serve delicious homemade hot dishes which you can enjoy in the café alongside your community or takeaway. Donations welcome.

Childcare

We have been offering childcare services since 2003, including Playgroup, Afterschool Club, and Breakfast Club, along with various holiday activities.

Since 2020, we have operated as a registered nursery, creating a home-like atmosphere complete with a sleep area, dining space, quiet corner, story nook, and a variety of crafts and toys to support an engaging learning experience. Our activities also include outings to the forest, beach, walks, and parks, providing your child with a broader educational experience.

Meetings Rooms

The Centre is a prime location for any event. We have a wide range of meeting rooms which can accommodate small or large bookings for hire including a function room, board room, training room, hangout space, art room, training kitchen or small meeting rooms. With the option for flexible layout anywhere from 2 people to 100+ with a range of catering and equipment available.
